First Year

Introduction to Skilled Trades
(0.5 year)

Students learn OSHA safety, measuring methods, hand and power tool skills, and essentials of blueprint reading while creating small scale projects.  This class is designed to prepare students for further classes in the construction pathway.  It is required for ALL students in the pathway to complete before moving on with further courses.

Architecture: ​Introduction to Engineering Design
(1 year)

Particularly helpful for those considering becoming a civil engineer or architect. Students use their hand and power tool and computer aided drafting design skills to give back to local organizations by participating in a variety of design projects. Students must have received A-C grades in their previous math and science classes. Students receiving high enough end of course exam scores are eligible to receive WSU Engineering Graphics credit for this course.

Second Year

General Carpentry 1
(1 year)

Architecture: Principles of Applied Engineering
​(1 year)

A comprehensive course designed to instruct students in the basic knowledge and skills required for construction of residential structures.  Must take before taking Carpentry 2.​
Explore a broad range of engineering topics, including mechanisms, the strength of structures and materials, and automation. Develop skills in problem solving, research, and design needed for presentation, collaboration, and design process documentation.

General Carpentry 2
​(1 year)

Civil Engineering & Architecture
​(1 year)

An advanced comprehensive course design to instruct students in skills pertaining to rough construction and finish work.
​Students learn the fundamentals of building design, site design, and development. They apply math, science, and standard engineering practices to design both residential and commercial projects and document their work using 3D architectural design software.

Fourth Year

WSUTech Construction Science
(1 year)

Students attend WSUTech for Free and receive college credit while furthering their career in construction science.
